Rangers of the Biosphere reserve south-east Rügen –service providers and interlocutors

Rangers involved in monitoring nature of the Biosphere Reserve of south-east Rügen are the direct interlocutors of residents and visitors.

They are service providers for the region, they take care of the landscape, species conservation, ensure respect of the legal regulations, and work on different projects, in regard to ecological observations.

Another fundamental point of their job is to help visitors and to improve tourism infrastructures. They are also involved in signalling pathways for hiking and cycling as well as the realization of informative panels.

Moreover, the rangers are active in environmental education, they have intimate contact with local schools. Whether it can be for one day projects, for hiking or practical work for the nature conservation, children love to make trips with the Rangers.
